Hand-printed Mezzaro, 100% cotton, natural colours, usable as a bedspread, sofa cover and also as a table cover. Traditional subject imported from India which inspired subsequent creations. The ancient depiction, still maintained, is stylized but very decorative: the tree grows from a flowered hill and then branches off into a complex tangle of branches full of flowers of various kinds as an auspicious symbol of joy and abundance. The design has remained faithful to the original configuration to the point that one can still identify the similarities with Indian prints both in the central subject and in the border, represented by a succession of paisley floral motifs. Although in different keys and representations, the tree is the central theme of the mezzaro in all its variants.
