Hand-printed Mezzaro, 100% cotton, natural colors, can be used as a bedspread, sofa cover, and even as a table cover. A traditional motif imported from India, which later inspired subsequent creations. The ancient depiction, still preserved, is stylized yet highly decorative: the tree grows from a flowering hill and then branches out into a complex tangle of branches adorned with various kinds of flowers, a symbol of good luck and abundance. The design has remained so faithful to the original configuration that similarities to Indian prints can still be identified both in the central motif and in the border, represented by a succession of paisley floral motifs. Although in different ways and representations, the tree is the central theme of mezzaro in all its variations.
