The tree of life grows from a small blue vase and fans out into long fronds, up to an arched crown laden with ochre flowers: the Mezzaro Sultan Blue and Ochre draws on the palace gardens of the Mughal era, where the flowering tree framed by an arch was a symbol of prosperity and welcome. At the foot of the vase two flowering shrubs, and all around a rich border of sage green bands, ochre flowers and slate blue edges.
Designed in Italy and hand printed in India on 100% cotton, it is made with the traditional technique of block printing: each colour is pressed by hand with its own carved wooden block.
Ideal as a bedspread, sofa throw or table cover, it is also beautiful hung on the wall like a tapestry, where the single-panel design can be read in full. A bright, sunny blue that brings the freshness of a garden in bloom into the home.
