Persian geometry and Indian hands meet in this decorative cloth of unmistakable personality. A dense honeycomb weave encloses delicate floral medallions in the dusty shades of sugar-paper blue and mustard yellow on a cream ground, while a blue Greek-key border closes the composition. The slightly grainy texture reveals the artisan's hand: every mark is stamped using the block printing technique.
Designed in Italy and hand-printed in India on 100% fine cotton, the Azure of the Orient belongs to the great family of painted cloths that travelled from India to the Mediterranean, the same ones that centuries ago inspired the Genoese mezzaro.
Versatile as a bedspread, sofa throw or tablecloth, this artisanal fabric brings to every room an elegance that spans East and West.
